Counting Coins
How do you count a group of coins?
To count coins, start with the coin worth the most. Then count on with the next coins.
For 1 quarter, 1 dime, and 2 pennies, count: 25, 35, 36, 37. That is 37¢.
One dollar is the same as 100 cents. You can make $1 with 4 quarters, 10 dimes, 20 nickels, or 100 pennies.
