The Five Senses
What are the five senses?
Your senses help you learn about the world. The five senses most people learn about are sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.
You see with your eyes, hear with your ears, smell with your nose, taste with your tongue, and feel touch with your skin.
Your senses work together. When you eat an orange, you see its color, smell it, taste it, and feel its bumpy peel.
Scientists know about other senses, too, like balance, which helps you stand up without falling.
