Habitats and What Animals Need
What is a habitat?
A habitat is the natural home where an animal lives. A good habitat gives the animal food, water, air, and shelter.
Different animals need different habitats. A fish needs water. A camel can live in a hot, dry desert. A polar bear lives where it is very cold.
All animals need water. Water helps their bodies stay cool, move food through the body, and stay alive. Animals get water by drinking it or from the food they eat.
